About

Tamar Samir is an award-winning designer, animator, and director based in New York City with over 18 years of experience in design and branding. In her previous roles as Creative Director at Nickelodeon and Art Director at LOGO (MTV Networks), Tamar was the brand guardian, responsible for maintaining brand identity and integrity across platforms: on-air, print, web, products, and events.

Tamar is also a design educator and has been teaching at Parsons the New School for Design in NYC since 2001.

Hi, I’m Tamar.

I’m a mission-driven, multidisciplinary Creative Strategist, Design Director, & Design Educator. My expertise covers social media strategy, brand strategy, visual identity, brand design, and marketing. I help organizations communicate and engage authentically and with integrity. I’ve worked in leadership positions in-house for high-profile entertainment brands and also as a consultant on brand and social media strategy for a variety of clients including labor, activist, and political organizations as well as large corporations.

My work, in collaboration with many talented people, has won multiple design awards including Promax/BDA (Broadcast Design Awards), AIGA, Creativity Awards, and the International Labor Communicators Awards. I have taught design and concept development at Parsons School of Design and at Pratt Institute in NYC.
